Supporting Artist Development: Local artists are provided with studio time, collaboration with other NEAR Artists and a culminating performance at the NOMAC Studio Theater.

Fostering Community Building: Audience members have the opportunity to see developing professional artists in an up-close & intimate environment and are asked to give written anonymous feedback on the work, as well as participate in a meet-the-artist Question & Answer following the performance.

Providing Mentorship & Youth Empowerment: A dedicated young Artist or Arts student from within the community (age 14 - 18) may be selected as a "Junior Artist" for mentorship with one of the NEAR Residents and the possibility of participating as a performer or production assistant.
